Post Truth

Post Truth is a direct action - a visual insurgency against the collapse of facts, the rise of misinformation, and the polarization tearing the world apart. Inspired by post-truth theory, which describes the decline of evidence-based discourse in favor of belief and emotion, the project responds to global crises - wars, social unrest, climate denial, and the manipulation of truth - as well as the fractured political landscape in the United States, and the hyper-mediated environment of New York City.

Using the language of the city itself, I appropriate the aesthetic of Post No Bills stencil signs from NYC construction fences: rough green walls, sharp-cornered white letters, overspray and halos. POST TRUTH will be stenciled vertically, “POST” on top of “TRUTH,” sprayed onto walls as ephemeral, site-specific interventions. These actions will be photographed under harsh, flash-lit documentary style, while the stencils, paintings, objects, and installations extend the work into the studio and gallery context.

This is art as activism. The city becomes the canvas, the wall a manifesto, the stencil a weapon. Post Truth confronts viewers with the fragility of truth, the mechanics of propaganda, and the urgency to witness. It mobilizes aesthetics to provoke, resist, and awaken civic reflection - turning ephemeral urban signs into lasting acts of political and social engagement.
