The transition from orality to literacy in Ancient times (Socrates: Writing is 'inhuman'), from an oral culture to a writing culture, marches of Gutenberg printing press, there is huge gap for structural changes of mind and consciousness. According to Walter J. Ong perception oriented through the orality and hearing sense went away and writing with a visual and spatial orientation came on stage. Writing technology effects the first transformation of human thought from the world of sound to the world of sight. There's letters writing, now with SPAM era we come into the visualization of text, mixture of letters and numbers, transformation of meaning in symbols. Here comes drawing instead of writing, designing instead of typing. Unwanted, unrevealed, secret messages, advertising, pornography, propaganda could be easily displayed everywhere with a design of “SPAM aesthetics”.
